Position Description

Job Purpose: 


To identify, qualify, and develop quality business opportunities for the hotel sales teams.



Job Responsibilities: 

  • Prospect, qualify and capture new leads using a wide variety of resources including Knowland, Delphi MPE, phone calls, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc.
  • Follow up on leads via email and phone calls, and conduct research by utilizing resources available to them to further quality potential prospects.
  • Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communication and conducting follow-up communications to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Manage all leads, prospects and opportunities, and provide regular updates and reports as defined/required by the SDSA.
  • Prioritize high potential prospects and deliver/present qualified lead to property sales team for further development of the account.
  • Utilizing internet resources, develop an understanding of target audiences and personal contacts to determine organization’s decision making/buying process.
  • Track/trace lead handoff process to ensure timely follow up by the property for each lead uncovered by the BDS.
  • Manage data in Delphi to ensure that all communications are logged, information is accurate and related documents are attached.
  • Work under general supervision, with a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Skills:

  • Exhibit computer skills to include SharePoint, ProfitSword, Delphi/MPE, Knowland Insight Essentials, Market Analytics, as well as word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s).
  • Exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills.
  • Use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.


Job Qualifications: 


Education -

  • High school degree

Experience -

  • Minimum 1 -2 years experience in Convention Services, Banquet, Hotel Sales, Marketing; OR equivalent education and experience.
